1. Subject files created by Lord Casey in the course of preparing his 1966 book Australian Father and Son. They include material on R. G. Casey (Snr); C. G. Casey; social, economic and climatic conditions in the later 19th century; and drafts, correspondence and photographs for "Australian father and son". 2. Thirty-two diaries kept by Lord Casey (23 Dec. 1939-10 June 1976), his diaries from 1904-1924 and 1914/1915 war diaries/notebooks. Diaries, bank books and letterbooks of R. G. Casey (Snr), 1874-1916. Lord Casey (1890-1976) had a varied political career that included Federal Treasurer, Minister of State in the British War Cabinet, and Minister for External Affairs (1915-1960). He was Governor of Bengal 1944-1946 and Australian Governor-General from 1965-1969. Lord Casey's father, Richard Gardiner Casey Senior (1846-1919) was a pastoralist, politician and businessman.
